McDonald’s: taking the Super Bowl campaign into the sky
A McDonald’s Super Bowl campaign extended beyond the screen through a Sky Typing activation.
Cornetto wanted to put its summer offer in front of people enjoying Australia’s beaches and harbours. Working with agency partner PHD, Remarkable Media delivered a helicopter banner campaign across Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
The activation used a 10,000-square-foot Jumbo Banner. Its creative paired Cornetto’s distinctive branding with a product image and a simple $2 offer. The large printed format gave the message space to be read from the ground as the helicopter carried it overhead.
The campaign brought the offer into outdoor summer settings rather than relying on a fixed roadside position. The Unilever team also joined a helicopter flight over Sydney to see the banner in operation.
This is a historical campaign, documented in January 2016. The surviving record confirms the banner format, agency partnership and three locations; it does not provide independently measured audience, sales or conversion results.
