McDonald’s: taking the Super Bowl campaign into the sky
A McDonald’s Super Bowl campaign extended beyond the screen through a Sky Typing activation.
In Netflix’s animated film Over the Moon, Fei Fei builds a rocket in pursuit of an extraordinary adventure. A Sydney aerial activation brought that spirit of invention into the real world, celebrating Australian children who had imagined rockets of their own.
The connection was immediate: a film about a child with an ambitious idea, and an opportunity to celebrate that same imagination beyond the screen.
The flyover celebrated the Australian children who had built their dream rockets. Their creativity supplied a direct connection between the film’s story and the experience over Sydney.
The aerial setting made the film’s central theme tangible. Looking upwards became part of the experience, connecting the idea of a rocket journey with a real event over Sydney.
For entertainment brands, that is the creative strength of experiential marketing: take a recognisable part of the story and let people encounter it in a new setting. Here, the link between imagination and flight supplied that connection naturally.
